I started playing the French horn at the age of 11. I was given this opportunity due to the fact we had a music service that offered free music lessons to school children but you could only learn one instrument, I chose the french horn as my primary instrument with a backup choice of the trumpet. Thankfully I got the chance to play the french horn as this has provided many opportunities for me both orchestrally and in wind bands. At the age of 16 I had the chance to help start up a local french horn group as we had a large influx of young students wanting to learn the french horn which would later go around playing at various locations. At the age of 19, I started to learn the Trumpet after I had completed my grade 8 french horn exam and took my grade 5 trumpet in the summer term before going off to university to study music at bath spa university. I have also had multiple opportunities to play with many professional musicians and have several chances to play with the Royal Marines wind band.
